 There are rainbows of colors for medical scrubs today; medical scrubs were once all one color, often a medium blue or a medium green. Now scrubs come in colors, floral and animal prints, and there are even scrubs for children. Medical uniforms are usually made of cotton, but now there are uniforms made with blends of polyester and cotton to maintain a wrinkle free, and professional looking appearance with little or no fuss.
The new medical scrubs and uniforms of today, that consist of a short sleeved shirt and pants with a draw string or elastic band are all known as scrubs. Almost all medical personnel wear some form of scrub uniform while on duty, from the doctors and surgeons, all the way to cafeteria and house keeping. These uniforms come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and prints. They even have scrubs that feature cartoon characters and cheerful prints that are very common in pediatrician’s offices and on children's wards in hospitals.

To the more modern medical personnel, the change to more comfortable uniform and pantsuits were a very welcome change. Soon, with the ease of buying these various uniforms, we may no longer envision the medical staff in plain white medical scrubs anymore.
